1. Overview
TB 8 — Sān Yáng Luò (三阳络) — is an acupuncture point on the Triple Burner meridian (San Jiao). Its English name, Three Yang Luo, reflects the point’s classical character and location. It is used in acupuncture practice as part of channel-balancing prescriptions for a range of conditions.

2. Location
One cun above TB-6 Zhigou, between the radius and ulna.
3. Actions
- Clears Heat
- Removes obstructions from the channel
- Activates the channel
- Alleviates pain
- Clears the sensory orifices
4. Indications
- Bi syndrome of the arm, neck, shoulders and occiput
- Hand and arm pain
- Pain in the forearm limiting movement
- Brachial neuralgia
- Upper arm and forearm neuralgia
- Post-operative pain associated with pneumonectomy
- Fever
- Lumbar pain due to traumatic injury
- Lack of coordination
5. Needling
Slightly oblique insertion towards the ulnar side or oblique-proximal or distal insertion towards the elbow or wrist respectively.
Important: Acupuncture should only be performed by a fully qualified practitioner. Never attempt self-needling. All needles I use are sterile, single-use and disposed of immediately after treatment in a clinical sharps container.
